At the Dunera hotel for guests with limited mobility there are hand rails to the main staircases and assistance will be given with luggage.

Blackpool Illuminations

It's better with the lights on for an Autumn break at Britains favourite resort, so take a trip to the fabulous Blackpool Illuminations. They are switched on at the beginning of September and shine every evening until the beginning of November. The display stretches from Starr Gate to Bispham along 5 miles of the famous seafront, transforming it into a huge colourful show of moving glowing tableaux, laser lights, fibre optics and giant models providing a wonderland of colour for the young and not so young.
So when other resorts are closing down, come alive in Blackpool with the sensational lights to take you through Autumn and into Winter. You can ride the length of the Promenade on one of the famous Blackpool trams some of which are illuminated. The trams run from Starr Gate at the South, right through Blackpool, to Bispham, Cleveleys and terminate at Fleetwood on the northern side.

The Dunera Hotel got its name from the SS Dunera which was launched in May 1937, she served the needs of troops in Cyprus, Ceylon and Malaya. In 1960 she became an educational cruise ship, sadly in November 1967 she was taken to Bilbao where she was broken up.
